*** We are looking for an Honest, Dependable, and Dog-Loving person to join our team, walking dogs all around Vancouver, WA. This is a part-time position, starting a 2-4 days per week (6-15 hours per week) with an intention to grow to be 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, with between 18-24 hours per week. Our ideal candidate will have availability from 9:00-4:00, Monday through Friday, although we will consider candidates who have a little less availability.  ***

The Work

You will arrive at a client’s house and take their dog for a walk in their own neighborhood. Walks range from 5 minute potty breaks to 60 minute walks with one, two or three dogs at a time. We walk breeds of all sizes and energy levels.
We walk in all types of weather, so you have to be willing to get a little wet some days, and to soak up the sun on others. But the truth is that, even though it rains around here a lot, it is fairly infrequent that we have a downpour where you get soaked.
All of our works happens in Vancouver, and we never transport dogs in cars. All the walking happens in our client’s own neighborhoods. You must have reliable transportation, car insurance and be comfortable driving your car all around town.

The Pay

The starting pay is $11/hour for the first 3 months, and then bumps to $11.50 if things are going well. You will be paid for all your time from the moment you arrive at the home of the first client on your schedule until you clock out at the end of the walk with the last client on the schedule. This includes being paid for your drive time between clients.

The Hours

Each day is a little bit different. We have some clients who want their dogs walked 1 day a week, some 2 days a week, some 3, 4 or 5. The length of your work day would vary, based on need, between 3-6 hours per day.
Our busiest time of day is between 11:00-1:00, so you will almost always be working during that time. Some days you may start as early as 9:00, and other days you could work as late as 4:00. It is very rare that we have any walks that start before 9:00 or that end after 4:00.
